Portrait of a Lady

  • Event
  • July 16, 2025

Matassa Toffolo recently identified a previously unknown Portrait of a Lady by the artist Cornelius Johnson (1593–1661) while advising a private client. Oil on canvas, signed and dated C.J. Fecit 1641, the identity of the portrait’s artist has been confirmed by a relevant expert. MT also arranged for expert conservation of both painting and frame. The sitter in the portrait has yet to be identified.
